Things to expect in a HIGH Low Fitness Class:

  • A sweaty blast

  • Nostalgic and fun music from all decades and genres that will motivate you to the max.

  • Simple and easy to follow fitness choreography.

  • Interval training moves: jump squats, burpees, tuck jumps, etc.

  • Take it HIGH or take it low! Options given for all levels of fitness.

  • An energetic, fun, inspiring and welcoming environment.

Things to expect in a Upbeat Barre Class:

  • You’ll get to experience the fun, upbeat music of Zumba, the balance and strength of Pilates and yoga, and the small, detailed movements of ballet.

  • “Barre is a toning, body-weight-lifting workout,”

  • It engages muscles you wouldn’t normally target—ones deep inside your body that squats, lunges and sit-ups don’t reach. With high-reps and low-impact movements, barre challenges anyone looking to fine-tune their muscles—no ballet experience required.

Thursdays with Chiemi

Following the birth of my second son I attending a high class as a way to get back into shape. It wasn’t long until that was no longer the focus in high I found a supportive community and a healthy outlet for the stress of daily life. I quickly became addicted to fitness- something I avoided prior. This addiction led to becoming certified as an instructor first in high fitness, then as a high low instructor and in January I also certified in UpBeat Barre. When I’m not teaching classes or chasing after my boys I’m found working night shifts in the emergency department as a registered nurse. Instructing has made me appreciate and aware of the positive impacts movement has on mental and physical health.
